How do I eFile my Ex Parte Application in Los Angeles?

Expediting Ex Parte eFIlings in LASC

When you eFile your ex parte Application in Los Angeles Superior Court, you must select ex parte as the document type in the workflow. Ex parte documents will be expedited when received by the clerk, so it's important to designate your document properly.

Ex parte applications must be eFiled no later than 10:00 a.m. the day before the ex parte hearing.

Courtesy copy requirements

  • If the opposition is eFiled after 4:00 p.m., then a courtesy copy needs to be brought to the relevant department on the day of the hearing.
  • If the opposition is eFiled before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing, then a courtesy copy is not required.

Other considerations

The Proposed Order must be included as a separate document in the same eFiling transaction as the ex parte application. Be sure to bring the Proposed Order to the court on the morning of the ex parte hearing, as well.

Note: Any ex parte application filed concurrently with a new complaint are exempt from eFiling and must be physically filed. This includes those that will be assigned to the Writs and Receivers departments in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
